This prestigious Trophy crowns each year the efforts of various African and international head of states and personalities who have made efforts and carried out actions and projects in the service of Africanness in the humanitarian, social, cultural, spiritual, economic and sports fields.
“We have awarded this prize to Shaykh Mohamed Faouzi Al-Karkari, given the important role played by this Moroccan Sufi Zawiyah in carrying out in several African countries and through the activity of its diverse international community various social, economic and educational initiatives,” said Mr. Nasrallah Belkhayate, President of “Fondation du Trophée de l’Africanité.”
As a reminder, through these initiatives undertaken throughout Africa, East and South Asia, South America, and other parts of the world, the Karkariya disciples seek to put into action the precepts of the spiritual education transmitted by their Shaykh, Shaykh Mohamed Faouzi Al-Karkari.
About the Zawiyah Karkariya:
The Karkariya Sufi Order is a vibrant Shadhili Tariqa led by the living axial saint, Shaykh Mohamed Faouzi al-Karkari. The mother zawiyah of the Order is located in the town of al-Aruit near the city of Nador in Morocco. The Order transmits gnosis through direct visionary experience of divine light. It aims to bring the servant to the station of perfection (Insan) so that he may then be realized in worship and vision: “to worship God as though you see Him” [Sahih al-Bukhari], in the path (suluk) and divine knowledge (ma’rifa) until his whole life becomes solely for Allah (lilah), the Lord of the Universe…
